Create your perfect high-country summer adventure deep within the stunning San Juan National Forest in Southwest Colorado, and let Peak to Creek Adventures do all the hard work for you! On horseback*, we’ll ride to your deluxe camp nestled amongst the trees just above 10,000 feet, where you can experience a sense of tranquility and rest that only a connection to nature can offer. Perhaps you love to hike and explore? The trails crisscross the expansive landscape, creating endless possibilities for scenic and rewarding days of touring. Just tell us the number of nights you’d like to be away and the number of people in your party (up to 8), and Peak to Creek Adventures will set you up for an experience you’ll not soon forget. 

Camping

For your adventure, Peak to Creek provides spacious tents equipped with cots, lanterns and a wood stove** to keep you warm. You’ll have propane stoves, dishes and utensils for cooking, as well as drinking water. Enjoy evenings around the fire pit, and perhaps cook some meals on the grate over an open fire — you’ll have plenty of firewood, cut and stacked, at your disposal**. Peak to Creek will also provide you with a map of the area, marked with points of interest. All of your gear will be packed in and out on horses and mules. The ride to the camp from Lemon Lake is approximately two hours long, and winds steadily upwards through aspen meadows, tall bright green grass, dense forests and an incredible meadow that overflows with wildflowers in the summer. We can pause along the way to take photos of whatever draws your eye.

Do you need a respite from the challenges of everyday life? Pack your yoga mat and take your mindfulness practice into a new space, with birdsongs and the sound of a gentle stream to relax and support you. Are you a photographer? A painter? A writer? The views are spectacular, the wilderness is vast and the inspiration is there for the taking. And if you are delighted by being in the company of wildlife, keep an eye and an ear out, and your camera ready, because you’ll be sharing the homes of grouse, wild turkeys, red-tailed hawks, bald eagles, mule deer, elk, black bears and more.
